      The Ring Lady of Herculaneum

      Ring Lady

      A Roman woman around 45 years of age, who died near the ancient waterfront of the Roman town during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. She was found surrounded by her gold jewellery and still wearing two gold rings on her left hand.
